About the procedure

Soprano Ice Platinum is the first equipment in the world to combine three wavelengths in a single pulse. It is the first time that this breakthrough technology has been applied in a laser epilation device. Besides its high treatment efficiency, it also offers high levels of safety confirmed by tests, comfort for the Patient and speed of the procedures performed.

The laser epilation procedure involves permanent destruction of hair structures that are responsible for its growth. The synergy offered by the simultaneous acts of three wavelengths in a single pulse makes it possible to damage hair follicles at different depths, irrespective of their colour or structure, thereby maximising the efficacy of the procedures.

Depending on the treatment site, the procedure may be performed using the stamping technique or the In-Motion technology. The former is intended for smaller area, e.g. armpits, where most of the energy is deposited. The latter, on the other hand, is ideal for larger areas, e.g. calves, where lower energy is deposited a few times in the same place.

What does the treatment look like?

Depending on the treatment site, the person conducting the procedure prepares the Patient in an appropriate manner. The first stage involves cleaning the skin on the treatment site of any perfumes and cosmetics. Next, if the procedure is to be performed over a large area, it is necessary to use a white-coloured pencil to draw a grid on the treatment site. The next stage is to protect the Patient’s eyes with special protective goggles. Then, the person conducting the procedure applies protective gel on the treatment site and sets proper parameters on the device.

While selecting the parameters, it is important to take into consideration the colour, thickness and phototype of the Patient’s skin as well as the thickness of hair growth. Therefore, it is worth leaving a few hairs on the area to be treated for the first appointment, so that the person performing the procedure can set proper parameters. In the case of subsequent treatment procedures, the skin should be clean-shaven. When the treatment procedure is over, the Patient receives post-treatment recommendations to follow.

Recommended number of treatment procedures

For the laser epilation procedure to be effective and to ensure a long-lasting effect of unwanted hair removal, it is necessary to damage as many structures responsible for hair growth as possible in their anagen (i.e. growth) phase. Unfortunately, during a single treatment procedure, only about 30% of the hairs are in the anagen phase. Therefore, in order to successfully remove unwanted hair growth, it is necessary to undergo a series of 6 – 8 procedures at intervals of 4 – 6 weeks on the face and 6 – 8 weeks on the body.

Duration of the procedure

Depending on the treatment site, the procedure lasts from 15 minutes on a small area (e.g. a bit of a moustache) to 60 minutes on a larger area (e.g. whole legs).

Post-operative recovery

Immediately after the procedure, slight reddening may appear to the skin, which normally fades after a few hours. After the procedure, Patients can resume their normal daily activities and no convalescence period is required.
