The GentleMax Laser is one of the most modern lasers currently used in aesthetic dermatology. It is extremely efficient in eliminating not only broken capillaries on the face and legs, but also angiomas. The laser beam is directed exactly to the location of the capillaries, thereby ensuring high precision of the treatment.
The GentleMax laser is a state-of-the-art solution developed by the American company, Syneron – Candela, which allows for safe and efficient removal of broken (dilated) blood vessels and angiomas. It is a top-class medical device, the efficiency of which has been proven by numerous clinical trials.
The beam of light emitted by the laser delivers energy precisely to selected blood vessels, without damaging the surrounding tissues. The laser’s light is absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood vessel. As a result, the capillary heats up and its walls are deliberately destroyed. A few days after the treatment procedure, the damaged capillary is absorbed by the body and removed by physiological processes.
The laser is recommended for individuals who would like to get rid of their unsightly broken capillaries and angiomas. Depending on the type of broken capillaries/angiomas and their location, appropriate treatment parameters are set on the device.
Before the first procedure, it is necessary to get a medical consultation to be qualified for the treatment. Next, the physician performing the procedure sets adequate parameters, puts special protective goggles on the Patient’s eyes and starts the procedure. The laser head emits a green point which guides the physician to specific capillaries to be repaired in order to make the treatment procedure as precise and efficient as possible. When the procedure is over, the Patient receives post-treatment recommendations to be followed.
The treatment procedure is practically pain-free. The laser is equipped with a cooling system which makes the entire procedure comfortable for Patients. The pulses emitted by the laser are experienced as mild “pins and needles”, and the skin feels slightly warm. Our Patients describe this procedure as comfortable.
No local anaesthesia should be used before the treatment session as it shrinks the capillaries, thereby reducing the efficiency of the treatment.
The number of recommended treatment sessions is an individual matter and depends, amongst others, on the type of blood vessels, their locality, depth and diameter.
Tiny capillaries usually require one session to be removed. However, in other situations, it may be necessary to perform a series of 3–4 treatment sessions. In such a case, the sessions should be performed at intervals of 4–6 weeks.
Patients are recommended to schedule a free-of-charge follow-up appointment with their attending physician 3 weeks after the first session.
Depending on the treatment site, the procedure takes from 15 minutes on a small area (e.g. capillaries on the ala of the nose) to 45 minutes of a larger area (e.g. capillaries on the legs).
Immediately after the procedure, slight reddening or swelling may appear to the skin, which normally fades after a few hours. After the procedure, Patients can resume their normal daily activities since no recovery period is required.
