One of the features of the FOTONA DYNAMIS SP platform is the precise closure of dilated capillaries on the face and legs (elimination of spider veins), as well as the removal of unaesthetic angiomas, troublesome erythemas and unsightly acne rosacea.
The light of the Nd:YAG laser mainly affects the haemoglobin. The absorption of energy by blood in the blood vessels generates heat, which destroys the vessel walls, thereby leading to their death. Thanks to the natural processes in the human body, the dead vascular tissue is removed from the system within a few/several days after treatment.
The action of the laser is selective, which means that the beam is emitted at the site where a particular vascular problem exists, without damaging the surrounding healthy tissues.
Laser removal of dilated capillaries does not require any particular preparation. The treatment procedure starts with thorough cleaning of the treatment site, after which the Patient’s eyes are protected with special safety goggles and suitable parameters selected on the device.
Then the treatment proper can begin. The laser’s head emits a point of light that guides the operator to the vascular lesions, thereby ensuring high precision of the treatment procedure. The laser beam is emitted only to the sites with capillaries, erythema or acne rosacea, without damaging the surrounding skin.
When the procedure is over, the Patient receives post-treatment recommendations to be followed.
The procedure is described by our Patients as comfortable. The laser impulses are experienced as mild “pins and needles”, and produce a delicate sensation of warmth on the skin.
No local anaesthetics should be used before the treatment procedure as they shrink blood vessels, thereby reducing the efficiency of the treatment itself.
In most cases, in order to get rid of vascular lesions, it is necessary to undergo from 1 to 3 treatment sessions at intervals of 6 weeks. The number of recommended session necessary to remove broken capillaries is an individual issue depending, amongst others, on their location, diameter and depth. The absorption time for vascular tissues varies, and complete regeneration may take from a few days to a few weeks.
Patients are recommended to schedule a free-of-charge follow-up consultation with their attending physician 3 to 4 weeks after the first treatment procedure.
The duration of the procedure depends on the area treated. The closure of dilated capillaries on the ala (wing) of the nose usually requires 15 minutes, the reduction of facial erythema – 45 minutes, while the closure of broken capillaries on the legs – 60 minutes.
The treatment procedure usually leaves a temporary erythema on the skin, which subsides after a few hours. Closure of larger blood vessels (e.g. on the legs) leads to the formation of a scab, which falls off after healing has taken place.
